Weald Computers announces acquisition
Mid Sussex based Weald Computers today announced the completed acquisition of making iT work consultants limited (miTw).
mITw are a privately owned Haywards Heath based IT consultancy. As a result of the acquisition, miTw ceased trading as of Friday 28th April 2006.
The acquisition enhances Weald's competitive position within the South by expanding its customer portfolio whilst reinforcing vendor relationships in a growing business market for advanced IT technologies and services.
Mike Nelson, Financial and Technical Director, Weald Computers said: We have enjoyed a successful working relationship with Making IT Work for many years. The owners were looking to retire from IT and offered us the opportunity to take over as our companies have similar skill sets and service-based culture. This is a very positive step forward for our company and reinforces our position within the industry.
The acquisition has introduced Weald to numerous new clients and industries including the media, architecture and design sectors all with outsourcing contracts that have been built up by miTw over many years. The service will not change hugely as Weald offers similar outsourcing facilities, only in a few cases will more training and less technical bias be required.
miTw was founded in 1995. Set up by Moira and Theo Triance, customers include small and medium businesses across the South. Current miTw customers will benefit from expanded resources and operational scale made possible by the integration into Weald. Their service will continue uninterrupted.
Moira Triance, Managing Director of miTw said: We have long term, established customers and we needed to ensure they continued to receive a high quality service; Weald have an impressive customer base and business ethos that compliments our company; they are an excellent choice to offer the quality of service and continuity required.
Weald officially recognised as a Microsoft Gold Certified Partner.
To gain this accolade, Weald had to complete training and examinations, plus gain excellent testimonials from several large installations which proves not only our ability to learn, but to implement and support our clients to a high standard.
Weald is now qualified as a Citrix Silver Solutions Advisor.
Weald embarked on a training programme in December 2005 having taken the decision to move more into thin client solutions, home working and web based application serving. Citrix is the recognised market leader and we are extremely pleased to be qualified and associated with this brand.
Hazel Rose joined Weald as a full time office manager.
Weald have taken this step in order to prepare for our upcoming expansion program which is soon to be announced on this site. Hazel has worked in the IT industry as an office manager previously and is already making excellent progress in controlling our all male engineering staff!
